Braves sign Brian Anderson to major league contract

The Atlanta Braves have signed utility man Brian Anderson to a contract with MLB, the team announced on Tuesday.

Anderson will play in Tuesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.

The 31-year-old totaled 66 home runs, 273 RBIs and a .740 OPS in seven years with the Miami Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers. His best season came in 2019 when he went deep 20 times in 126 games with an OPS of .811.

Anderson made 50 starts at third base and 35 starts in right field for the Brewers last season.

Atlanta placed left-hander Tyler Mazek on the 60-day injured list to make room for Anderson on the 40-man roster.
