WATCH: Ink thrown at police car carrying father of teen involved in Pune Porsche crash

The father of a 17-year-old boy whose speeding limousine killed two software engineers in Pune was being taken to a local court after someone allegedly tried to throw ink on a police car, an official said.

The incident took place around 2.30 pm when the father of the teenager, who was arrested on Tuesday night after being detained in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar town in central Maharashtra, was being taken Go to Shivaji Nagar district court complex and appear before the Additional Sessions Court Judge.

The Porsche, driven by a boy, hit two software engineers riding a motorcycle in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of Sunday, killing them, police said. The boy was drunk at the time of the accident, police said.

A Pune police official said: “According to preliminary information, four to five people from an organization tried to throw ink on the police car escorting the father of the juvenile accused.” Kosha is a 24-year-old IT professional from Madhya Pradesh who works in Pune.

After the accident, the police registered a case against the boy’s father under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Section 75 relates to “willful neglect of a child or subjecting a child to mental or physical illness”, while section 77 relates to supplying intoxicating liquor or drugs to a child.
