Dennis Uy’s Converge signs deal with South Korea’s Naver to boost Philippine cloud market

Bilyonaryo Dennis Anthony Uy’s Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Naver Corp. to tap into the booming Philippine cloud market.

The deal between Converge and Naver Cloud Corp. will focus on developing cloud solutions tailored for Philippine businesses.

Naver Cloud brings its expertise in smart city solutions, large language models (LLM), sovereign cloud technology, and business communication and integration tools.

“As we continue to expand into the digital realm, we need advanced solutions to support technological lifestyles in a powerful digital environment. We look forward to working with NAVER Cloud to explore ways to support more customers through cutting-edge cloud technology.

Naver Cloud CEO Yuwon Kim sees the Philippines as a strategic market with high growth potential.

“We want to contribute to the digital transformation of the Philippines,” Kim said. “We will work with Converge based on our capabilities in smart city technologies and localized sovereign artificial intelligence, sovereign cloud implementations to ensure data sovereignty.”

Since launching its cloud platform business with 22 products in 2017, NAVER Cloud has expanded its product portfolio to more than 200 individual products.

These include IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid cloud products, and provide the same levels as global hyperscale cloud service providers.
