The Niagara River Lions announced today the signing of 6-foot-6 American guard Omari Moore. Moore, 23, from Pasadena, California, played for the Raptors 905 in the 2023-24 NBA G League season, averaging 9.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

“I am very excited to welcome Omari as another new member of the River Lions family,” said head coach and general manager Victor Raso. “Omari is an extremely talented, athletic point guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways both offensively and defensively, and we are excited that the next stop on his basketball journey will be in Niagara.”

Moore played four seasons at San Jose State University, averaging 11.1 points, 3.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 116 games. Moore totaled 1,312 points during his time with the Spartans, becoming San Jose’s fourth-leading scorer in history. Moore finished with a field goal percentage of 45.4%, which ranks fifth in program history. Moore finished his college career leading the Spartans in 2022-23, averaging 17.4 points and 4.8 assists in 36.5 minutes per game. Those career-high numbers earned Moore the Mountain West Player of the Year and a spot on the Mountain West first team.

Moore began his career in 2023 as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League, where he averaged 2.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 5 games. Moore subsequently signed with the Raptors 905, and he took advantage of this new opportunity, averaging 28.9 minutes per game. In addition, Moore also performed well in the Showcase Cup. His playing time increased to 32.3 minutes, averaging 9.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

Moore joins the River Lions this summer hoping to keep the 905’s momentum going and add luster to his young career. “I’m really excited and grateful for the opportunity to play for the River Lions next season,” Moore said. “Fans can expect a player to step up, compete on both sides of the court and try to help the team win. This season should be interesting!
