New thrift store opens at former Black Ink site along Swarthmore Avenue

This is the most recent replacement for a shop in the village that closed last year

With recent openings, people in the West End can get new thrifting experiences Magu’s Just steps away from Palisades Village.

Magoo’s, located at 869 Swarthmore Ave., is a buy/sell establishment open to people in the market to stock their wardrobes or exchange store points or cash for a variety of apparel. According to its Instagram account, the store sells products from Yeezy, Nike, Adidas, Palm Angels, Gallery Department, Lacoste, Chrome Hearts and other fashion brands.

The store held its grand opening on Saturday, April 27th.

Magoo’s opened nearly a year ago in a space previously occupied by a boutique stationery and gift shop tenant black ink, cease operations. The gift and holiday shop was founded in 1998 by former CBS News producer Patti Black.

“Last year we enjoyed our biggest sales ever in the store. Black Ink’s wholesale department tripled over Covid! Lack of sales wasn’t the reason I closed.
