IN-SPACE, GalaxEye Test Facility Ink MoU


BENGALURU: Space technology startup GalaxEye on Thursday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding on May 1 with the National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe), an agency of the Indian space ministry A subordinate autonomous agency.

“Through this partnership, GalaxEye becomes the first beneficiary of IN-SPACE’s state-of-the-art shared offices and testing spaces. The partnership further enhances access to ISRO’s top-notch laboratories and testing facilities,” the company said in a statement said in a statement.

In 2023, GalaxEye built India’s first indigenous drone equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and is currently working on building India’s first private earth observation satellite constellation, it added.

“…by partnering with IN-SPACE and leveraging their state-of-the-art facilities, we are poised to revolutionize the way we collect and analyze Earth orbit data,” said Suyash Singh, CEO and Co-Founder of GalaxEye.

He said the initiative would enable the company to deploy India’s first privately-led constellation of Earth observation satellites, thereby enhancing its ability to monitor climate patterns, urban development and natural phenomena with unprecedented precision.

“Our efforts today are paving the way for a future where space technology becomes integral to solving some of Earth’s most pressing challenges. This partnership will help global businesses and organizations by improving the reliability and quality of satellite imagery. Governments make decisions, even in adverse weather conditions.

The company said it is considering launching its first satellite called “Drishti Mission” within a year, which will be India’s first and the world’s highest-resolution multi-sensor imaging satellite.

“GalaxEye brings an innovative approach through multi-sensor earth observation satellites equipped with proprietary “Drishti sensors”. This modern sensor technology helps solve the problem of cloud cover, which often hinders early methods of studying planetary features. It provides these organizations with an opportunity to discover something new, provides them with high-quality images and ensures they are always available no matter how the weather changes,” the statement reads.
