Ministry of PPPA signs MoU with MUI on women empowerment, child protection

JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga and the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the synergy of women’s empowerment and child protection.

“In order to fulfill the five directives given to our ministry by the President, we will continue to strengthen synergy and cooperation with various stakeholders, including signing a memorandum of understanding with MUI,” the minister noted in a statement on Wednesday.

Puspayoga is optimistic that this collaboration will improve the quality of women’s empowerment, gender equality and child protection in Indonesia, especially with the support of religious organizations.

Through this MoU, she also hopes that both parties will formulate and implement policies on women’s empowerment and child protection from a religious perspective.

Furthermore, the collaboration also aims to enhance the role of women and families in gender equality, education, health, social, economic and entrepreneurship, as well as to achieve the goals of children’s rights and protection.
