Adani Green Energy signs 20-year power purchase agreement with Sri Lanka

Adani Green Energy Ltd has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Sri Lankan government to develop two wind power stations in the country’s northern provinces of Mannar and Punalim, the official news portal reported. According to News.lk, the project’s power generation price is set at 8.26 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The renewable energy company, part of Port Power Group, received approval in February last year to spend $442 million to install wind farms in Sri Lanka and develop 350 megawatts of power into the national grid.

In November, Adani Group also planned an initial $750 million investment in the cash-strapped island nation’s renewable energy sector.
