Buffalo Bills sign DL Dawuane Smoot to one-year contract

The Buffalo Bills continue to add to their defensive end depth, signing edge linebacker Davahn Smoot.

The team announced it was a one-year deal.

Smoot, 29, has played seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars selected Smoot with a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

In 99 games, including 17 starts, Smoot had 23.5 sacks and 133 tackles, including 27 for a loss and five forced fumbles.

The Bills selected pass rusher Javon Solomon in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, Buffalo has rotation spots up for grabs on the defensive line with the likes of Von Miller, Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa.

Smooth will return from his Achilles injury in 2022.
