Bonnies Ink Junior College guard Jonah Hinton

British stone.Bonaventure, NY – St. Bonaventure Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mark Schmidt Announced the signing of Jonah Hinton, a 6-foot-3 guard from Panola (Texas) College, to join the Bonnies program for the 2024-25 season.

“Jonah is a combo guard who can score in a variety of ways. He can really shoot from deep,” Schmidt said. “He’s a smooth player with a great feel for the game. Jonah has a chance to be an all-league player in our conference. We’re excited to add Jonah to the Bonnies backfield.”

Hinton excelled last season at Panola, where he averaged 14.2 points, 3.2 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. He shot nearly 41% from the field and 80% from the free throw line. Hinton is a long-range sniper who shot nearly 40 percent from three (85-214). The Chicago native has started all 34 games for Panola this year.

Last year, he helped Panola finish in the top 20 nationally and reach the second round of the NJCAA tournament, finishing the season with a 27-7 record.

He excelled at Naperville (Ill.) Central High School, playing both on and off the ball, averaging 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game, earning DuPage Valley League Most Valuable Player honors. After his senior season, he earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State Third Team honors.

Hinton has three years of college eligibility remaining.
