Hawks smart to add AJ Brown to massive expansion: Grades and instant analysis

The Eagles are always looking for ways to steal the spotlight during the NFL Draft. Two years after announcing the acquisition of AJ Brown on night one of the draft, Philadelphia is heating up again.

As was the case two years ago, No. 11 was one of the most discussed topics on draft night. According to PhiladelphiaEagles.com, the Birds and Batman have agreed to a three-year contract extension.

The numbers are huge. The deal confirms previous reports. The former Miss Rebels will remain in Philadelphia during the 2029 campaign.

Well…Ammon Ra. St. Brown was once the highest-paid wide receiver in pro football. AJ Brown has now taken up the mantle. Look at the numbers. Three years…$96 million…$84 million guaranteed, sources said. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, “(Average $32 million per season) makes him the highest annual average earner of any WR in NFL history.

His extension, along with DeVonta Smith’s, means the dynamic duo will be in Philadelphia and playing together for a few years. Put your head on the pillow and relax tonight. Birds fans have reason to rest easy.

Grade: A+

Simply put, when you have such good players, you have to do whatever it takes to keep them. The Eagles certainly did that.

Jalen Hurts is locked in, as are many of Jalen Hurts’ weapons and offensive linemen. The Phillies offense is going to be interesting for a while. No bird fan will complain about this!
