Tehran, Moscow sign memorandum of understanding to strengthen security cooperation

Under the MoU, Tehran and Moscow will work to strengthen cooperation in various strategic areas.

Iran and Russia, two close strategic allies, have deepened their ties in different areas such as security and defense over the past few years despite severe sanctions from the West.

The 12th Conference of High Representatives for International Security was held in St. Petersburg from April 23 to 25, with representatives from 106 countries participating.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video message at the event that Russia is willing to work closely with all interested partners to ensure global and regional security.

There is no doubt that international terrorism remains one of the most serious threats of the 21st century.
