Darryl Fitzwater elected Bishop of All Saints Mission


On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the second day of the Synod of the All Saints Mission District (MDAS), the Rev. Darryl Fitzwater, Rector of the Church of the Ascension in Carneysville, West Virginia, was elected as Dioceses are in the process of choosing a bishop. Bishop-elect Fitzwater will be ordained later this year in accordance with the episcopal selection schedule, pending the approval of the Anglican Communion, the North American bishops’ conference.

The Diocese of Mid-Atlantic congratulates Daryl on his election and joins MDAS in praying for Daryl, Becky and their children as he continues the process and awaits consent.

Fr. Darryl and Becki were married in 2000. In 2003, Fr. Daryl began working as a senior pastor in a traditional Pentecostal denomination, while Becky worked in elementary education. They have served churches in Ohio, Maryland, Kentucky and West Virginia. During this time, Daryl served as a regional officer for his sect, overseeing foreign missions and helping ministers become wealthy.

In 2012, they became Anglican and became part of the Mid-Atlantic Diocese. Fr. Darryl was ordained as a pastor in 2017 and founded the Church of the Ascension. His spiritual passions are seeing people walk in the fullness of Christ, leadership development and church growth/mission. Becki is a licensed professional counselor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in professional counseling.

this All Saints Mission (MDAS) is a non-geographical diocese of the Anglican Church in North America, consisting of 35 dioceses in 15 states in the United States: Washington, Arizona, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, New York, Colorado, and New Mexico states, South Carolina, Virginia, Maine, Maryland and Delaware, as well as ministries in Latin America and Africa. As of April 6, 2016, it includes the Western Conference, formerly the Western Diocese of the Reformed Episcopal Church.
